This past weekend I had the dubious honor of having produced the ugliest soap ever seen by eyes of man or beast.
…no. Whatever you’re thinking, it was uglier than that. I promise. Here, let me show you.
See? I told you it was ugly. It was even uglier in person. Egad.
So, yeah, ugly soap. Generally speaking I take ugly soap in stride. Sometimes fragrances have a mind of their own and the soap seizes (which is what happened here), not to mention the oodles of other things than can go more or less astray when soaping. Ugly soaps often have a charm all their own, and even when not, I usually just put them on clearance rather than trying to fix them. After all, ain’t nobody got time for that!
This time, though, I didn’t want to sell these even in the Ugly Soap Bin, and I really, really hate throwing soap away. So the ugly soap had a date with my salad shooter.
The shreds were mixed with a fresh batch of soap in the same scent (hot processed – a topic for another post), and the end result, while a long way from my original intent, is something with which I am very pleased. Behold, Good Clean Dirt soap!
See! Earthy and rustic and not at all blobby! The revitalized Good Clean Dirt soap will be forthcoming in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
